Sony China launched its full-line Blu-ray products for the first time in China on July 6.

The launched products include Blu-ray burners with a storage of 50GB, notebook computers with Blu-ray CD drivers and Blu-ray compact disks.

The first model of Blu-ray DVD players will be rolled out in the second half of the year, and the first batch of DVD movies recorded in Blu-ray format will also be presented in the immediate future.

The notebook computers are sold at RMB 30,988, and compact disks are priced from RMB 199 to RMB 249, sources familiar with the matter unveiled.

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), which is a group of leading consumer electronics makers, such as Sony, Philips, Dell and Apple.
