Native English Speaker Intern?(one for Investment & Government Relationships, one for Strategic Communications) (Native English Speaker, 3-6 months’ term, fulltime per week)
??APCO Worldwide is an exciting and growing international public affairs consultancy with a strong presence in Greater China. APCO’s work in China focuses on providing government relations, investment and strategic communications advice to clients operating in the Chinese market.
??APCO is seeking to recruit one intern for its Investment & Government Relation team and one intern for its Strategic Communication team in Beijing. APCO’s internship program seeks to provide students with valuable and substantive work experience and strives to involve interns in all aspects of the company. ??
??APCO’s interns become integral team members on a wide range of accounts, providing critical support while learning more about the industry as a whole. An intern is also encouraged to attend practice group and other staff meetings, as well as to get involved in the company’s social events. Internships normally last for six months.
Summary: An intern is responsible for supporting assigned staff on all projects. Specific responsibilities may include internet-based research, polishing written documents, and other support as dictated by project managers. Interns report directly to assigned project staff and the Intern Coordinator.
Responsibilities: The following are specific duties assigned to interns and are performed on a daily basis.
    • Assist project staff with tasks including but not limited to:
    • Editing and refining written documents for clients
    • Drafting reports for project managers
    • Conducting industry and/or client research
    • Provide logistical support to project managers for client meetings
    • Creating and updating lists and information involved in account activity
    • Handling daily media liaison and media monitoring as client required
    • Documenting and tracking of account activity such as conference reports, account status reports, etc.
    • Other work as requested by project managers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of an APCO intern include:
• Relevant educational, professional or previous intern experience: an intern should have recently completed or be in the last year of study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate degree
• Strong interest in business and China
• Native English speaker, and with some level of Chinese language ability
• Ability to write clearly and succinctly
• Ability to research effectively
• Ability to organize and multi–task project work
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as to work independently
• Self-motivated and professionally presented
• Familiarity with Microsoft office software
• ?Currently resident in Beijing (no relocations considered); Valid visa needs to be available and managed by intern him/herself during the internship period.
