Disney is looking for exceptional Academic Trainers to ensure the smooth on-boarding, initial Training, and ongoing professional development of both Foreign Trainers (FTs) and local bilingual Assistant Trainers (ATs) working at Disney English language learning Centers in China.  The Academic Trainer will be responsible for both group on-boarding and ongoing training processes as well as one-to-one individual on-boarding of new FT and AT staff, including on-the-job Training, conducting class observations and giving constructive feedback, and administering Knowledge Assessments to new trainees.  The Academic Trainer works across multiple Disney English Centers within a given region and reports to the Regional Language Learning Director of that region.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and implement standardized on-boarding and training procedures for Disney English FTs and ATs.
• Work with Human Resources to ensure that all new FTs and ATs experience a smooth, supportive, and informative on-boarding process and are immersed in the Disney English and broader Walt Disney culture.
• Become familiar with and remain abreast of the Disney English interactive content and all new programs and offerings that are or will be delivered at Disney English Centers.
• Become highly proficient in the use of Disney English’s educational technologies, including interactive white boards and the company’s proprietary on-line parent portal system.
• Work with Center academic staff to continue to develop their classroom training skills as required to deliver both highly effective and engaging learning experience.
• Identify specific needs for regular group training sessions on specific procedures, theories and approaches, and content delivery methods and techniques.
• Schedule and deliver ongoing group training sessions for academic staff using methods such as demonstrations, workshops, meetings, and conferences.
• Through direct video recorded classroom observations and one-to-one feedback sessions with FTs and ATs, ensure high quality classroom delivery and consistency across Centers and academic staff.
• Develop new academic training aids such as topic-specific PowerPoint presentations, training handouts, training DVDs, and Knowledge Assessment tools.
• Provide direct contact substitute instruction at Disney English Centers within the region in the event of FT or AT illness, vacations, or other absences.

Job Qualifications:  

• 7+ years relevant work experience preferred.
• Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification
• Native or native-like speaker of English
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Exceptional public speaking skills and interpersonal communication skills
• Exceptional knowledge of general education and language teaching theories, approaches, methods, and techniques
• Proven track record in teaching young learners and training academic staff.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.  Advanced Degrees preferred.[/size]
